Our state‑of‑the‑art, climate‑controlled inspection facility houses 3 CNC CMMs and a Hexagon metrology laser scanning arm. As we grow toward £6M turnover and expand our aerospace portfolio, we’re seeking a Quality Manager to lead our quality systems and drive our AS9100 certification.
The RoleAs Quality Manager, you’ll be the guardian of quality standards across Trinity Precision. You’ll maintain our ISO 9001 certification, lead the implementation and embedding of AS9100, and ensure every component leaving our facility meets the exacting standards of our aerospace, F1, and motor sport customers. This is a hands‑on leadership role combining strategic quality management with technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities Quality Systems & Compliance- Maintain and continuously improve our ISO 9001:2015 quality management system
- Lead AS9100 certification implementation – develop processes, documentation, and training
- Ensure compliance with customer‑specific quality requirements (aerospace, F1, motor sport)
- Manage internal and external audits, including customer audits
- Develop and maintain quality manuals, procedures, and work instructions
- Drive corrective and preventive action processes
- Oversee inspection operations
- Develop inspection plans and first article inspection (FAI) documentation
- Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of all inspection equipment
- Review and approve inspection programs and measurement strategies
- Implement statistical process control (SPC) where applicable
- Manage supplier quality and approval processes
- Conduct supplier audits and performance reviews
- Handle customer quality issues, non‑conformances, and reporting
- Build strong relationships with aerospace and motor sport quality teams
- Support new customer onboarding and quality requirement reviews
- Lead and develop the quality inspection team, including mentoring of junior staff
- Provide training on GD&T, inspection techniques, and quality standards
- Foster a culture of quality throughout the organisation
- Collaborate with Programming, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams
- Analyse quality metrics and drive improvement initiatives
- Reduce non‑conformances and scrap rates
- Support lead time reduction projects
- Implement best practices from aerospace and motor sport industries
- Minimum 5+ years quality management experience in precision manufacturing
- ISO 9001 auditor certification or equivalent qualification
- AS9100 experience (implementation or maintenance) – essential for our planned aerospace growth
- Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Experience with CMM programming and operation (MCOSMOS, PC‑DMIS or similar)
- Proven experience managing quality teams
- Excellent understanding of PPAP, APQP, FAI, and other quality tools
- Strong problem‑solving skills using 8D, root cause analysis, and CAPA methodologies
- Experience in aerospace, automotive, or motor sport manufacturing environments
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
- Experience with titanium, aluminium alloys, and stainless steel inspection
- Knowledge of 5‑axis machining processes and associated quality challenges
- Familiarity with NADCAP or other aerospace special process requirements
- Experience with ERP/MRP quality modules
