At Rehabilitation Hospital of Rhode Island, we are dedicated to helping individuals regain function, independence, and quality of life following a severe injury or illness. Our multidisciplinary team provides personalized rehabilitation for patients recovering from stroke, brain and spinal cord injuries, neurological conditions, amputations, trauma, and orthopedic injuries. A Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs

• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions

• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient

• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record

• Documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record

• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient

• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

• Perform other duties as assigned.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.

• Education: Graduation from an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing, or Nursing Diploma program.

  • Experience: Minimum six months of Medical/Surgical experience in an acute care setting preferred.

• License: Active Rhode Island RN license (single-state or compact) required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.

• Certifications: CPR/BCLS certification required; ACLS preferred. CRRN preferred.
