Applications are invited from candidates who are suitably qualified and experienced in administrative duties and clerical work to offer administrative support to our busy paediatric speech and language therapy teams.
We are looking for a highly organised individual, who has excellent interpersonal and communication skills to join our friendly and supportive admin team providing a comprehensive clerical and secretarial service to the team of Speech and Language Therapists and Assistants in the paediatric service.
Main duties of the jobMain duties of the post include answering telephone queries from patients / families / professionals, booking appointments, sending out clinical correspondence and maintaining admin systems, including Systm One. Other varied duties of the post will include handling post, photocopying, filing and typing clinical correspondence.
This post would be suitable for staff who have completed a Business Admin Apprenticeship and/or for staff looking to offer administrative support to a clinical, community-based service.

Job responsibilities- NVQ level 2 or equivalent experience
- Experience using IT systems
- Experience working in an office environment
- Knowledge of a range of office procedures
- Knowledge of IT skills
This post is based within the main paediatric SLT admin hub at Shiremoor Resource Centre, though the postholder may be required to work at other sites within the Trust. Therefore the postholder must be able to meet the travel requirements of the post.
Person Specification Qualifications- NVQ level 2 or equivalent experience
- Good general level of educational up to GCSE/ O level
- Experience of using IT systems
- Experience of working in an office environment
