We are working with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in North Tyneside to recruit a History Teacher for supply and long-term opportunities. The school has a strong Humanities faculty and values History as a key part of its broad curriculum.
This role is ideal for a subject specialist who can deliver engaging, thought-provoking lessons and support pupils to develop strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

£163 – £265.92 per day | PAYE | Depending on experience
Teach History across KS3 and KS4
KS5 opportunities available depending on experience
Deliver engaging lessons covering a range of historical periods
Differentiate learning to support mixed-ability classes
Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and engagement
Work collaboratively with the Humanities department
11–16 secondary school with a strong local reputation
Calm, structured learning environment
Clear behaviour expectations and consistent routines
Supportive leadership and collaborative staff culture
Easily accessible via Metro, bus routes, and major road links
Suitable for candidates commuting from Newcastle, North Tyneside, or Northumberland
QTS, QTLS, or equivalent UK teaching experience
Strong subject knowledge in History
Confident classroom presence and behaviour management
Flexible and reliable approach to supply or long-term work
Open to short-term, long-term, or permanent opportunities
PAYE only – no umbrella companies

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
