About

The Role

North Tyneside Recovery Partnership (NTRP) is delivered by Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne & Wear NHS foundation trust and Waythrough as the subcontractor since April 2025.

The service has an office base in the centre of Wallsend but we also have a strong outreach approach to meet the needs of service users, therefore flexibility to travel across the area is a key expectation for the role.

  • Work collaboratively with statutory and voluntary services to safeguard young people at risk.
  • Provide an outreach approach to support the most vulnerable service users.
  • Offer drug and alcohol support to young people up to the age of 25.
  • Manage a caseload of service users by co‑producing 1:1 and group support with an aim of facilitating behaviour change.
To Succeed In This Role, You’ll Need
  • Knowledge of harm reduction approaches in relation to substance misuse (where relevant to post).
  • Experience supporting those in addiction to drugs and alcohol and familiarity with delivering psychosocial interventions.
  • Working knowledge of safeguarding and good communication skills, as well as experience managing a caseload.
  • Understanding of and ability to implement interventions, including brief interventions, MI, PSIs, CBT and ITEP.
  • Carrying out assessment and recovery planning and risk management plans.
What We Offer
  • 27 days’ annual leave, rising to 32 after 1 year (plus bank holidays).
  • Pension scheme with 4.5% employer contribution, matched up to 6.5%.
  • Life assurance (3× annual salary).
  • Enhanced sick pay and family‑friendly pay.
  • Birthday leave and the option to buy up to 5 extra days’ annual leave.
  • Professional fee reimbursement for relevant qualifications.
  • 24/7 online GP access and Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Recognition and long service awards via our Way to Go and Aspirations portals.
