Come build the future with us! We are looking to add a Senior Estimator to our Vancouver office to contribute to the growth of our Civil operations.

The Senior Estimator is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of multiple construction estimates and budgets of varying complexity and size for our clients. This position plays a key role in maintaining our leading reputation and continuing rapid growth. The estimator handles conceptual design‑build, cost‑plus, lump‑sum, and construction management projects, working with the project team through design, tendering, and vendor procurement.

• Prepare estimates for design‑build and CM projects, including all ‘soft’ budget elements such as commentary, assumptions lists, and presentation materials
• Lead on hard bid pursuits
• Study plans and specifications, interpret technical specifications of tender documents
• Analyze and prepare tender documents, discuss working methods, subcontracting, and risk constraints
• Perform quantity calculations and evaluate the costs of materials, labor, and equipment
• Find prices from subcontractors and suppliers, and communicate to confirm pricing, coverage, and scope gaps
• Participate in client meetings and mandatory visits to gather relevant information
• Review proposals, ensuring scope completeness
• Conduct site visits, review and approve drawings, specifications, and design documents, ensuring integration between all disciplines
• Communicate with vendors to obtain bids for materials and services
• Pre‑qualify new vendors for potential use
• Create and issue tenders for subcontracting pricing
• Review vendor bids for compliance with contract requirements
• Maintain a costing database for future budgeting and estimates
• Participate in project risk identification and mitigation
• Consider project schedule and construction challenges in all estimates
• Proactively follow up on RFIs and maintain information flow

In accordance with applicable pay‑transparency legislation, EBC Inc. has included an expected salary range for this role: $95,000 – $145,000. Compensation within the range is determined based on relevant experience, qualifications, localisation, and internal equity. Base salary is one component of EBC’s comprehensive total rewards offering, which may include performance‑based incentives, extended health and wellness benefits, retirement savings programmes, and career development opportunities.
