Cost Control Specialist

Join Carlson Construction Group as a Cost Control Specialist to manage budgeting, forecasting, and cost reporting for major construction projects in North Vancouver. This 9-month contract role ensures projects stay on budget and on schedule.

You will thrive in this full-time position if you possess a background in construction management, finance, or engineering with 5–7 years of relevant experience. Engage in detailed budgeting, monitor costs, and assist in strategic forecasting. Working closely with high-performing teams, your analytical skills will help identify cost-saving opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain project budgets from estimates

• Track actual costs; produce weekly/monthly reports

• Prepare cash flow projections and risk assessments

• Monitor change orders and scope impacts

• Review contracts and procurement documents for compliance

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field

• 5–7 years of cost control experience in construction

• Proficiency in cost control software like Procore

• Strong Excel skills and understanding of contract structures

• Excellent communication and detail-oriented approach
