Estimator at BA Blacktop

Become a vital part of BA Blacktop's Project Procurement team as an Estimator in North Vancouver. This role encompasses comprehensive costing estimates for civil construction projects while ensuring successful project execution.

Working at BA Blacktop, the Estimator will be responsible for planning and delivering accurate costing estimates for heavy civil contracts. Essential skills include a thorough understanding of construction practices and expertise in estimating software like B2W and Autodesk QTO. This position also offers the potential to act as Technical Lead on Design-Build Projects and assume Project Manager duties for complex bids.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review contractual documents and scope of work

• Prepare accurate takeoff quantities using estimation software

• Issue and review supplier and subcontractor proposals

• Manage the bid award process and execute contracts

• Supervise and coach junior team members

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of estimating and project management experience

• Strong technical and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently

• Knowledge of construction earthwork and underground practices

• Gold Seal Certificate in Estimating preferred
