We are seeking an experienced and driven
Senior Estimator
to lead the development of accurate, competitive, and well‑supported estimates for complex
marine, piling, and heavy civil construction projects
. This is a senior leadership role within the estimating team, offering the opportunity to influence strategy, shape winning proposals, and mentor the next generation of estimators.
In this position, you will manage multiple tenders simultaneously, evaluate risk and constructability, coordinate subcontractor pricing, and work closely with project teams and senior leadership to deliver high‑quality bid submissions. Your expertise will directly support the successful delivery of marine infrastructure projects across British Columbia.
Key Responsibilities- Lead complex tenders through the full bid lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and on‑time submissions
- Review and analyze tender documents to identify risks, opportunities, and constructability considerations
- Prepare detailed risk assessments and recommend appropriate contingency strategies
- Coordinate and review subcontractor and supplier quotations, ensuring scope clarity and alignment
- Support procurement and buy‑out planning during the tender phase
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and technical support to junior estimators
- Track project outcomes and integrate lessons learned into future pricing strategies
- Maintain and update pricing databases, labour rates, equipment costs, and productivity metrics

Job Requirements Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
- P.Eng. designation is an asset
- Minimum8+ years of senior‑level estimating experience
in marine, piling, or heavy civil construction - Proven success delivering complex lump‑sum and negotiated tenders
- Strong experience with
marine works, deep foundations, piling systems, and waterfront structures
- Proficiency with estimating software (e.g.,
Heavy Bid
) or the ability to quickly learn - Advanced skills in
Excel, AutoCAD, and MS Project - Strong understanding of labour, equipment, material pricing, and production rates
- Ability to interpret drawings and lead detailed quantity take‑offs
- Knowledge of union agreements, wage structures, and regional cost considerations
- Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving skills
- Clear and effective communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to manage multiple bids under tight deadlines
- Professional, proactive, and results‑oriented mindset
- Demonstrated leadership capability and sound judgment
- Passion for mentorship, quality, and continuous improvement
