Opening Statement Vancouver Waldorf School (VWS), located in North Vancouver, British Columbia, is seeking an Harmonics and Choir Teacher for a permanent part-time position for Grades 2-8. The available position will commence with the start of the 2026/2027 School year, with teaching days on Mondays and Fridays (subject to change). The applicant must have experience in teaching singing, choir, pentatonic and diatonic recorder, percussion and basic music theory to children.
Waldorf teaching experience is preferred, and the applicant will be expected to prepare and deliver lesson plans per the Waldorf and BC Ministry of Education curriculums. The applicant must have the ability to work with children with a range of abilities across the different age groups.
Job Duties
In addition to teaching the Waldorf School Harmonics and Choir curriculum to students in Grades 2-8, other duties will include:
- evaluation of student progress, oral and written report writing and parent meetings
- parent interaction
- recess supervision (negotiable)
- attendance at school festivals and events outside of regular teaching hours
Skills required include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Music and/or Education
- BC Teaching Certificate or ability to qualify
- Experience with and/or knowledge of Waldorf Education
