Compensation Range

About The Position And About YouThis position is responsible for working closely with the Operations and Maintenance departments to prioritize and co‑coordinate operations activities to align with maintenance work schedules in order to maximize maintenance efficiency and minimize downtime. The role will develop and/or revise procedures as required, as well as assist with development of Energy Control Plans (ECPs) to take equipment offline and develop workarounds to keep the plant operating safely while equipment is out of service.
It will also assist in turnaround planning and critical equipment inspections.
- Have either a Minimum 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate or be Registered or be able to register as a Professional Engineer (Chemical Preferred).
- Have plant operating or process experience.
- Previous involvement with shutdown/turnaround planning.
- Previous experience with maintenance planning and coordination.
- Collaborative approach to problem solving.
- Ability to balance competing priorities.
- Ability to act independently and on own initiative.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Act as the main interface between Operations and Maintenance to ensure strong communication, planning and scheduling of all maintenance activities.
- Jointly responsible with the Production Engineer for the development and management of Energy Control Plans (ECPs) for lockouts with greater than 5 locks.
- Working with the Maintenance Planner and Supervisors, responsible for the prioritization of production‑driven maintenance activities.
- Coordinate Operations activities to align with Maintenance work schedule to minimize plant downtime and maximize maintenance efficiency.
- Coordinate Operations activities with Process Engineering, Project Engineering, and Contractor groups to ensure projects move forward.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the theory and operation of all equipment and processes.
- Assist Maintenance Planner in determining the priority of corrective work orders and developing the weekly schedule.
- Coordinate daily maintenance with Shift Supervisors, Maintenance Supervisors, Maintenance Planner and Tradespeople.
- Work with Operations to ensure equipment is prepared for inspection as scheduled.
- Review the maintenance executable backlog and coordinate the scheduling of value‑add jobs based on production plans and resource availability, including preventive and predictive maintenance items.
- Jointly accountable with the Production Manager to ensure Operations' process and training manuals are up to date.
- Provide technical support as a resource in Accident/Incident investigations.
- Lead Energy Control Plan (ECP) development and implementation to support Maintenance activities.
- Assist in turnaround planning to support operations and maintenance.
- Promote the safety culture of the plant and be actively involved in all safety and environmental initiatives.
- Perform and document daily field safety reviews and audits.
- Work hours are generally 7AM to 4PM alternating 4/5 days/week but depend heavily on plant requirements which include on‑call duties.
