As an Electrical Designer
, you will play a key role in shaping the electrical systems of new construction projects for our clients. This position will concentrate on cable tray and cable routing design, as well as identify and resolve related technical issues. From concept through completion, you’ll contribute to every phase of the design process—turning technical requirements into practical, high‑performing solutions that meet project and safety standards.

Base pay range: CA $40.00/hr – CA $47.00/hr
Contract12‑month contract, on‑site, 5 days per week
Responsibilities- Provide engineering and design support for Electrical Power Systems, preparing detailed design and calculation packages to meet contract and performance requirements.
- Develop essential design documentation, including Electrical Load Lists, Single Line Diagrams, Cable Diagrams, Instrumentation and Controls Lists, Interface Control Diagrams, and wiring/termination diagrams.
- Conduct formal and informal trade studies to identify optimal, cost‑effective engineering solutions and ensure material budgets are met or exceeded.
- Create material specifications and Bills of Material in alignment with client material strategies and project requirements.
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure design integrity, integration, and compliance with industry and client standards.
- Support project close‑out activities through documentation, testing support, and technical reviews to ensure successful project delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
- Minimum 3 years of post‑secondary experience in electrical, controls, and instrumentation engineering.
- Proven experience in heavy industry environments
; shipyard experience preferred. - Demonstrated ability to work independently and develop innovative solutions to complex technical problems.
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with MRP/purchasing systems
. - Excellent organizational, analytical, and leadership skills, with a commitment to safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
