Description

Join our Operations team as an Industrial Water Treatment Plant Operator and embark on a rewarding career dedicated to protecting the environment and supporting our resource industry. We have entry and senior level positions available based on our recent growth in Water Treatment Operations work in Canada and the Caribbean.

In this role, you will work with advanced technology and a small team of senior operations and engineering specialists, tackling complex challenges that make a significant impact on public health and the environment. You will receive on‑the‑job training in water treatment and chemistry fundamentals, as well as advanced process optimization. You will play a crucial part in maintaining the highest standards of water treatment with a rotating shift schedule that offers both flexibility and structure.

This is a fly‑in/fly‑out position to remote locations across western Canada. The posting captures applicants at all experience levels with the salary reflecting the range for junior to intermediate level positions.

Responsibilities
  • Secure and efficient operation of an industrial water treatment plant, collaborating with a small team under supervision.
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain water treatment equipment including pumps, filtration systems, and chemical feed systems.
  • Respond to alarms and emergencies, troubleshooting issues to prevent downtime.
  • Conduct regular laboratory tests on water samples and adjust treatment processes as necessary to meet compliance standards.
  • Record and maintain accurate logs of treatment processes, test results, and maintenance activities.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on treatment equipment to ensure efficient operation.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations during all operational activities.
  • Perform landscaping and housekeeping duties as needed to maintain a clean and organized facility.
Requirements
  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
  • Passport and ability to travel in Canada and the United States.
  • Understanding of heat management and chemical applications; preference for candidates with industrial plant or industrial wastewater treatment experience in mining or thermal oil operations.
  • Environmental Operators Certification Program (EOCP) certifications preferred for supporting non‑industrial projects in Canada, the United States, and the Caribbean.
  • Robust candidates with exceptional experience who are pursuing or willing to pursue certification will be considered.
  • Minimum EOCP level 1 or higher certification in Water Distribution, Water Treatment, Wastewater Collection, Wastewater Treatment, small water system, or small wastewater system.
  • Minimum 2 years of direct experience with water or wastewater treatment systems.
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract (proof required).
  • College or industry training courses in water treatment, chemistry, pollution control or related subjects are an asset.
  • Training and experience in relevant trades such as plumbing, electrical, pipefitter/steamfitter, or mechanical trades are an asset.
  • Mechanical skills: proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Certifications in H2S, First Aid, Confined Space, or TDG are an asset.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work on‑site as needed in a fly‑in/fly‑out arrangement, with rotations to different locations as required.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently in remote settings.
Safety‑Sensitive Position
  • Must be able to frequently bend, twist, reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Must be able to lift up to 77 pounds (35 kilos) on a daily continuous basis.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work on uneven surfaces.
  • Must be able to work at heights and in diverse weather conditions.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a light‑duty truck.
  • Must be able to pass drug and alcohol and field readiness tests required by clients or by Integrated Sustainability.
  • Must be comfortable working in a remote field environment with varying working conditions.
