Your Job

Dark Vision, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is looking for a Procurement Engineer to join our fast-growing advanced manufacturing and supply chain operations in North Vancouver.

This role owns end to end technical NPI and project purchasing, managing critical components from supplier selection and RFQs through negotiation, ordering, and delivery. It ensures material and capital equipment readiness for product launches and engineering changes, and manages technical procurement for capital equipment, manufacturing lines, and specialized tooling aligned to development milestones.

Serving as the technical liaison between Engineering and suppliers, the role ensures precise execution of design intent through drawing interpretation, DFM collaboration, and ECO implementation.

This role is on-site at our North Vancouver, BC HQ, where employees enjoy a wide array of amenities including a fully equipped gym, squash court, steam room, climbing wall, and more!

Our Team

Dark Vision develops the world’s most advanced acoustic imaging platform for oil & gas and industrial asset inspection. As part of the Manufacturing Engineering and Supply Chain team—spanning purchasing, logistics, and manufacturing engineering—this role supports prototyping, testing, and production by sourcing critical components and equipment while building strong supplier partnerships that meet quality, delivery, and cost objectives.

What You Will Do

Purchasing & Project Purchasing

  • Manage the entire lifecycle of technical purchase orders (POs) from vendor identification and RFQ through negotiation, order placement, and follow-up for critical components.
  • Lead technical onboarding and part qualification activities (APQP/PPAP) to ensure suppliers meet rigorous standards from the prototype phase through production.
  • Synchronize material availability with product launch schedules and engineering change timelines to maintain uninterrupted assembly flow.
  • Manage project purchasing and technical procurement for capital equipment (CAPEX), internal manufacturing lines, and specialized field support equipment.
  • Manage vendor tooling investments and technical ramp-ups to align with internal product development milestones.
  • Design Integration & Technical Alignment

  • Interpret complex mechanical drawings and electrical specifications to ensure 100% technical alignment between design intent and supplier execution.
  • Partner with Design and Manufacturing Engineering on DFM reviews to optimize component quality, cost efficiency, and scalability within project timelines.
  • Translate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) into actionable supplier instructions and validation plans to prevent inventory obsolescence or launch delays.
  • Act as the technical procurement liaison during New Product Introduction (NPI) to ensure critical-to-quality (CTQ) requirements are met at the supplier level.
  • Supplier Selection & Development

  • Perform structured audits of vendor manufacturing processes, equipment suitability, and technological maturity to qualify new partners.
  • Support strategic sourcing by evaluating vendor risks, cost structures, and geographic proximity to optimize the supply network.
  • Analyze supplier cost structures and "should-cost" models to identify value engineering opportunities and deliver measurable savings.
  • Quality Management & Operational Excellence

  • Monitor supplier lead-time performance and quality metrics (Cpk, Yield, GR&R) to ensure strict adherence to engineering and procurement objectives.
  • Facilitate on-site root cause analysis (RCA) for defects and manage the implementation of sustainable Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCARs).
  • Deploy advanced quality systems and in-process controls at vendor sites to reduce manufacturing variability and eliminate non-conformances.
  • Identify production bottlenecks and implement Lean or Six Sigma initiatives to improve supplier throughput and operational efficiency.
  • Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Education:
