Binnie is looking for a Civil Design EIT to join our Development Squamish Division, which provides professional services for municipal infrastructure programs, large multi-family housing projects, and major commercial and industrial developments. This position is full-time in our Squamish Office, located in the beautiful Sea to Sky region.
Projects typically include site servicing, underground infrastructure renewal, drainage improvement and in-stream works, stormwater management and green infrastructure, grading, roadway geometrics and rehabilitation, and pathways.
This position is full-time in our Squamish office. You will work with our supportive team of Engineers, Technologists, and Project Managers. You will carry out design work on projects from conceptual level through to detailed design and construction. This challenging role offers great mentorship opportunities.
Your Role- Preparing design drawings using AutoCAD or Civil3D
- Performing design work in consultation with the Engineer of Record
- Preparing reports, manuals, and technical memorandums
- Preparing proposals and engineering fee estimates
- Ensuring quality control procedures are completed as per Binnie’s Organizational Quality Management (OQM) Policy
- Ensuring that project designs and calculations adhere to legal standard
- Completing site inspection as needed
- Completed Degree in Civil Engineering and registration as an EIT with EGBC
- Minimum of 2 years of related professional work experience in an engineering or other related professional environment
- Valid Driver’s License and personal vehicle preferred
- Previous hands-on experience working with AutoCAD or Civil3D
- Sound working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Strong written communication skills including technical report writing
- Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple ongoing projects
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, other consultants and contractors
- Ability to work cooperatively and productively in a team environment
- Ability to consistently maintain a high degree of accuracy and quality in work
The salary for this position is commensurate with experience; the salary range for this position is $79,325 - $114,700 annually. The final salary for this role may vary based on several factors, including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. Please note that the salary range provided in this job posting may be subject to change for business purposes.
