Vanpile is seeking a Project Engineer to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in the success of our ground improvement and land piling projects. Key Responsibilities- Assist in the daily operations of ground improvement, foundation, and shoring projects with a focus on quality, safety, and timely delivery .
- Review and interpret geotechnical reports focusing on bearing capacities, settlement tolerances, and groundwater control for deep foundations.
- Coordinate pile load tests, PDA testing, CPT, and static load tests, ensuring compliance with design criteria.
- Oversee installation and inspection of piling, stone columns or caisson works, verifying embedment depths, material quality, and installation tolerances.
- Liaise with geotechnical consultants on issues like unexpected soil layers, obstructions, or ground settlement exceeding allowable limits.
- Collaborate with subcontractors and vendors to align schedules and meet deadlines.
- Mentor junior staff and perform field assignments as required.
- Uphold and promote Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) standards.
- Degree or diploma in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
- Registered or eligible for registration with APEGBC or ASTTBC.
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience in geotechnical engineering.
- Expertise in ground improvement techniques, foundations, earth retaining structures, and driven piles.
- Strong background in contract management, scheduling, and financial oversight.
- Familiarity with government approvals and trade standards.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and time management skills.
