Your Job
Dark Vision, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is in search of a dedicated ILI Field Specialist to facilitate pipeline inspections across the United States and Canada. This role involves travelling extensively to maintain, test, and deploy Inline Inspection (ILI) tools. If you have hands-on experience working with downhole or ILI systems, excellent communication skills, and the desire to work with rapidly evolving technologies, we want to hear from you.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a world-class team revolutionizing industrial imaging. The role will be based in our HQ in North Vancouver, BC, and will require 50 to 75% out of town travel.
Our Team
Dark Vision’s award winning Kraken is an ultrasound-based ILI system that performs crack detection, geometry, and metal loss measurements all in a single run, at full line speed, and at ultra-high resolution. The team at Dark Vision empowers operators to make well-informed decisions by providing them with a clear view of their piping infrastructure. Join us on this exciting journey as we strive to become the leader in industrial imaging.
What You Will Do
Prepare, operate, and troubleshoot ILI tools at various pipeline sites across the US and Canada. Oversee the deployment and recovery of the ILI vehicles.
Ensure that tools, parts, trucks, and critical equipment are checked, cleaned, calibrated, and verified for each job is an essential part of deploying the technology. You will have responsibilities relating to the care of the tools, outfitting of testing and support facilities, and tool planning and logistics between jobs.
Deploying new technology naturally necessitates troubleshooting problems that arise in real-time. You’ll be supported by strong and responsive engineering and operations teams, but the ability to figure things out quickly, and improvise under pressure will be critical to overall job success. The capacity to anticipate and solve field problems is paramount.
Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to help develop and follow processes to support testing of new ILI products. Your feedback from testing and field operations will contribute directly to product development.
Contribute to the development, creation, and organization of operating procedures, checklists, reports, and other program documentation.
Quick, clear, and effective communication with customers, subcontractors, and Dark Vision staff is your responsibility. Represent Dark Vision with pride and uphold our reputation of excellent service quality.
There will be a wide assortment of standard and not-so-standard tasks that you’ll be expected to complete, both inside and outside the typical field deployment umbrella. The role has an entrepreneurial side so that no task will be either above or beneath you.
