Welding Engineering Intern

Embark on a hands-on journey as a Welding Engineering Intern at Seaspan Shipyards in North Vancouver. This fully on-site role focuses on developing welding procedures and supporting metallurgical testing initiatives.

Seaspan Shipyards is seeking a Welding Engineer Intern to contribute to Canada’s shipbuilding efforts. This internship will greatly enhance your understanding of welding processes and standards, while engaging with industry professionals. Work directly on developing welding procedure specifications and support the Welding Quality Management System initiative to improve production quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing Welding Procedure Specification documents

• Support testing procedures in the Metallurgical Laboratory

• Contribute to the Welding Quality Management System initiative

• Organize and review the Welding Procedure Database

• Engage in special projects assigned by management

Requirements:

• Enrolled in 2nd or 3rd year of Metallurgical/Materials Engineering or Welding Technology

• Knowledge of shipbuilding welding processes and standards

• Innovative thinker with tenacity in problem-solving

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Commit to full-time hours during the internship
