Take on a rewarding role as a Relief Chief Engineer with BC Ferries in Horseshoe Bay. This role features a flexible schedule and involves traveling with the vessel, enhancing your maritime engineering skills.

Reporting to the Senior Chief Engineer, your role is critical in maintaining the ship's propulsion systems and ensuring compliance with regulations. You will be responsible for overseeing machinery performance, leading crew training, and performing regular maintenance tasks. A strong focus on safety and operational effectiveness is essential for this dynamic position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the safe operation of all propulsion systems

• Execute regular inspections of onboard equipment

• Direct emergency and maintenance repairs as needed

• Organize watch crew assignments efficiently

• Liaise with regulatory bodies for compliance

Requirements:

• 1st Class Motor Certificate of Competency

• Previous experience as a Chief Engineer

• Proficient in MS Office suite

• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills

• Demonstrated supervisory experience
