Overview

We are seeking a motivated Metallurgical Technician to support laboratory and pilot-scale research focused on precious and base metal extraction. The successful candidate will assist with experimental test work, laboratory operations, data collection, and equipment maintenance while working closely with our R&D team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about metallurgy and environmental sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct laboratory and pilot-scale metallurgical test work on ores, concentrates, and tailings.
  • Prepare samples including crushing, pulverizing, splitting, screening, and weighing.
  • Prepare reagents and process solutions.
  • Perform hydrometallurgical experiments including leaching, filtration, washing, and solution sampling.
  • Conduct chemical analyses including pH, ORP, titrations, and atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS).
  • Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks and prepare technical summaries.
  • Assist with laboratory equipment calibration and maintenance.
  • Maintain laboratory inventory and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
  • Diploma or degree in Metallurgy, Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Hands-on laboratory experience.
  • Experience operating analytical instruments such as Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) and conducting chemical sample analyses.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the gold extraction or hydrometallurgy.
  • Familiarity with leaching technologies and recovery methods.
