What this role is all aboutDelivering senior advisory services in our Park Royal branch, this role focuses on fostering valued relationships with an established book of assigned clients by promoting financial wellness across all credit, investment, insurance, and banking products. The Financial Advisor will collaborate with specialist partners in investment and insurance to leverage their expertise in addressing clients’ requirements and crafting personalized financial plans. By identifying and addressing both immediate and future needs, the Financial Advisor strives to establish new connections that enrich clients’ financial health and contribute to the growth of the organization.
This is a part‑time and temporary (10‑month) opportunity based out of our Park Royal branch in West Vancouver. If an internal candidate is selected, the assignment will return the individual to a role at the same level, though it may not be the exact job/location of the former role.
What you’ll do- Proactively establish relationships with assigned clients to advise them on actions that create and maintain financial wellness and uncover appropriate sales opportunities that support organizational growth.
- Conduct interviews with clients to clarify short‑term and long‑term financial goals, confirm risk tolerance, and identify opportunities.
- Promote and complete the sale of a full range of deposit, investment, wealth‑protection, and lending products within the assigned portfolio.
- Authorize mortgages, consumer loans, and other loans within assigned lending limits, promote credit insurance sales, and make appropriate credit recommendations above limits.
- Promote and sell mutual‑fund products.
- Identify potential client needs and act as a liaison between clients and specialists in investments, wealth protection, and advanced tax planning.
- Use all available tools, especially the Client Relationship Management (CEM) software, to provide seamless service and contribute to Beem’s growth.
- Stay informed on all products, services, competitors, and current economic conditions to understand their impact on clients.
- Collaborate effectively with Advisory Associates, other team members, central support areas, and community partners to enhance relationships inside and outside the Credit Union and achieve business results.
- Adhere to safety and security policies to protect clients and the credit union’s interests, operate within transaction approval limits, and maintain ongoing learning and personal development plans.
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation or working toward one.
- 4–6 years of progressive experience in the financial services industry.
- Mutual‑fund license.
- Proven investment and credit sales record.
The salary range for this position is $75,000–$85,000 per year, prorated to a three‑day‑a‑week schedule.
