Dark Vision, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is seeking a QA Manager to lead quality assurance across our hardware, firmware, and software products. You will be responsible for building and running a practical, high-impact QA function that improves product reliability without slowing down innovation.
This role is hands‑on and leadership‑focused. You will manage and mentor QA staff, define test strategies, and work closely with Engineering, Product, and Customer Support to ensure real‑world issues are reproduced, validated, and prevented from recurring. You will champion risk‑based testing, smart prioritization, and fast feedback over heavyweight process.
This regular full‑time position is on‑site in our HQ in North Vancouver, BC, where employees enjoy full access to our facility amenities including a well‑equipped gym, squash court, climbing wall, steam room, and more!

What You Will Do- Lead, mentor, and grow the QA team across software, firmware, and system‑level testing
- Define and evolve QA strategy focused on risk, impact, and customer outcomes
- Own test planning for releases, balancing coverage with speed and practicality
- Ensure customer‑reported issues are reproducible, tracked, validated, resolved, and prevented from regressing
- Collaborate closely with Engineering to integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines
- Drive continuous improvement of test processes without introducing unnecessary bureaucracy
- Provide clear quality signals to leadership around release readiness and risk
- Act as a Quality advocate while remaining pragmatic about trade‑offs and timelines
- 5+ years of experience in QA leadership or management roles
- Experience in software testing, ideally in complex or real‑time systems (e.g. video games, embedded systems, industrial software)
- Experience testing systems involving hardware and low‑level software (embedded Linux, firmware, drivers, or similar)
- Experience managing test plans, test cases, and defect tracking in modern tools
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate quality risks and trade‑offs
- Background in game testing or other fast‑paced, high‑complexity QA environments
- Experience in front‑line technical support or customer‑facing engineering roles
- Familiarity with Linux‑based systems and debugging at the system level
- Experience implementing and scaling automated testing frameworks and CI/CD
For this role, we anticipate paying $120,000 to $180,000 per year commensurate to your level of expected contributions. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
