Job Description
Through the National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS), the Government of Canada has embarked on one of the largest procurement projects since the Second World War. The NSS is a nation‑building effort to create a sustainable Canadian shipbuilding industry, secure long‑term job opportunities, and build the next generation of ships for the Canadian Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy. Through its NSS‑related work, Seaspan Shipyards is owning the redevelopment of our domestic shipbuilding industry on the West Coast and delivering on the promise of ships built in Canada, by Canadians.

Internship Overview
The Intern reports directly to the Manager, Oracle Functional Manager. As the Intern, Business Technology Solutions at Seaspan, you will embark on a hands‑on learning journey that blends systems support, business process understanding, and continuous improvement within a complex enterprise environment. This position is required to be fully on‑site based at 889 Harbour side Dr, North Vancouver, BC V7P 3S1.

What You’ll Do
On‑boarding and Foundation

Learn incident and service request workflows, tools, and governance processes

Support the monitoring, categorization, prioritization, and routing of incoming tickets

Build familiarity with business processes, system modules, and key stakeholders

Operational Support & Documentation

Assist in service request management and escalation processes

Help define, refine, and standardize business and IT process documentation

Support knowledge‑base development to improve team efficiency and user experience

Project Support & Continuous Improvement

Support transition from post go‑live to sustainment support model

Assist with post‑go‑live stabilization and issue resolution

Contribute to testing activities, including system enhancements and defect validation

Contribute to ongoing enhancement initiatives within the Oracle Fusion ecosystem

What You’ll Bring

Currently pursuing a diploma or degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field

Basic understanding of ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, or similar) is an asset

Familiarity with business processes such as Finance, Procurement, or Supply Chain is a plus

Strong analytical thinking with the ability to break down problems and identify solutions

Ability to interpret data, workflows, and system behaviours

Attention to detail when reviewing incidents, documentation, and test results

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work collaboratively with both IT and business stakeholders

Comfortable asking questions, clarifying requirements, and sharing ideas

Excellent knowledge of the English language, verbal and written

Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point

Employment Details
Full‑time commitment Monday‑Friday, 40 hours per week with an hourly rate of $28.00/hour.
