Build the Future of Enterprise Service Delivery
Are you a hands-on Senior Service Now Developer who enjoys modernizing workflows, solving complex business challenges, and building scalable Service Now solutions?
Our client, a large Canadian non-profit organization, is seeking an experienced Service Now Developer to help transform and enhance enterprise IT and HR service delivery processes. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys partnering with business stakeholders, re-engineering existing workflows, and delivering practical solutions that improve operational efficiency and user experience.
This is not a platform administration or support role. We are looking for a senior developer who still enjoys rolling up their sleeves, configuring, customizing, and building solutions within the Service Now platform.
About the Opportunity
The organization has a mature Service Now platform supporting several enterprise business functions, including:
- Incident Management
- Change Management
- Release Management
- Request Fulfillment
- Production Support
- HR Service Delivery (HRSD)
The successful candidate will play a key role in evaluating existing workflows, identifying opportunities for improvement, and modernizing business processes through Service Now development and workflow automation.
A significant portion of this engagement will focus on enhancing existing capabilities rather than implementing modules from scratch.
Responsibilities
- Analyze existing Service Now workflows and identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and process improvement.
- Design, configure, customize, and develop scalable Service Now solutions across ITSM and HRSD.
- Modernize legacy workflows by leveraging Flow Designer and Service Now best practices.

- Develop Flow Designer automations and enterprise integrations using Integration Hub and REST/SOAP APIs.
- Partner directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements, recommend improvements, and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Support production issues, troubleshoot platform defects, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable fixes.
- Participate in platform enhancement initiatives, workflow modernization efforts, testing, deployments, documentation, and knowledge transfer.
- Contribute ideas that improve maintainability, scalability, and long-term platform health.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on Service Now development experience.
- Demonstrated experience enhancing enterprise Service Now environments rather than simply administering the platform.
- Strong experience with:
- ITSM
- HR Service Delivery (HRSD)
- Flow Designer
- Service Catalog
- Business Rules
- Script Includes
- Client Scripts
- UI Policies
- Java Script
- Integration Hub
- Experience modernizing or re-engineering Service Now workflows.
- Experience integrating Service Now with enterprise applications using REST and/or SOAP APIs.
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver workflow improvements.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Agent Workspace.
- Experience supporting HR Case Management or Employee Service Delivery processes.
- Experience migrating legacy Service Now workflows to Flow Designer.
- Experience with Service Portal.
- Service Now Certified System Administrator (CSA).
- Service Now Certified Application Developer (CAD).
- Additional Service Now implementation certifications (CIS-ITSM, CIS-HRSD, etc.) are considered an asset.
- Experience with in healthcare, public sector, or non-profit organizations is considered an asset.
What Will Make You Successful
The ideal candidate enjoys improving the way organizations work—not simply writing code.
You will be successful if you have experience:
- Re-engineering business workflows.
- Modernizing legacy Service Now implementations.
- Building scalable workflow automation.
- Working collaboratively with technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Delivering hands-on Service Now development within enterprise environments.
- Driving continuous platform improvement through practical, maintainable solutions.
If you are passionate about workflow transformation, enterprise service delivery, and hands-on Service Now development, we encourage you to apply.
