Title: Associate Lawyer (Contractor)
Location: North Vancouver, BC (on-site)
Type: Independent contractor (not an employment position)
You’ll run your own practice with the autonomy to control your hours and files—while leveraging our infrastructure, referrals, and support.

Semi-monthly payouts with a transparent performance-based split

• Manage and grow your book of business across your chosen practice areas
• Meet and advise clients, draft and review documents, and appear at hearings as needed
• Maintain accurate dockets, trust compliance, and billing practices
• Uphold Law Society of BC standards and firm policies

• Reception: Team of 3 receptionists
• Workspace: Private furnished office with computer and dedicated phone line
• Boardrooms: 4 modern rooms with AV and video-conferencing
• Admin: 2 in-house bookkeepers (billing & accounting), 1 in-house conveyancer
• Paralegal Support: Shared paralegals (min. 1 per 2 lawyers)
• Software: Microsoft Office desktop apps, Adobe Professional, Cosmolex, CLE precedents, Hadamard AI, ChatGPT, and other CLE resources

Minimum fees to be charged to clients:

$50 file-opening fee (for matters over $800 billable)

Office hours:
Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (stat holidays closed)

Contractors set their own schedules; minimum on-site presence: 20 hours/week

Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia

Entrepreneurial mindset with strong client focus

Commitment to ethical practice management and long-term growth

Existing client base or referral network

Experience in real estate, litigation, business, or immigration matters

Familiarity with Cosmolex and paperless workflows
