Portfolio FocusOn Call/Casual Porter will perform daily cleaning tasks in the mall. Cleaning and maintaining areas such as floors, stairways, entrances, washrooms and carpets. Tasks include but not limited to the following - sweeping, vacuuming, dry/wet mopping, cleaning and or disinfecting of offices, washrooms, benches, entrances, and other areas as per contract requirements.
Key Responsibilities Opening Porter (20% Time Spent)- Check all washrooms. Make sure supplies are stocked and ready for the day.
- Tour Common areas looking to make sure there are no spills.
- Ensure that all furniture, signage, and garbage containers are in proper locations.
- Clean entrance glass.
- Ensure compactor areas are clean and garbage compacter; and
- Vacuum and Clean Administration office Daily
- Clean, wash, squeegee, and polish entrance way glass, door frames, thresholds, and windowsills – inside and out (as weather permits) throughout the day
- Sweep and/or mop entrance way floors as required (indicate wet surfaces with “Caution – Wet Floor” signs until dry and safe from any potential hazard(s).
- Vacuum and/or wet vac entrance matting as required, dust check the entrance ways during the winter a minimum of three times a day between 12pm and 5pm Sunday
-Wednesday & Saturday and four times a day between 12pm and 8pm Thursday & Friday and seasonal extended hours. - Empty and clean garbage cans as required.
- Check interior and exterior entrance ways, sidewalks, and garbage cans throughout the day
- Pick up any visible litter in and around entrance ways
- Empty and clean exterior ashtrays on a rotational basis throughout the day.
- Report any broken doors, glass, or other potential hazards immediately to the operations manager.
- Respond immediately to any customer or staff concerns regarding supply replacement or cleanliness of the facilities.
- Check washrooms throughout the day on a regular, rotational basis to ensure they are clean and properly supplied (at minimum every 2 hours in the off season; 1 hour during peak holiday season(s) or special events, or as required).
- Spot clean as necessary.
- Disinfect toilet bowls, seats & covers, and urinals.
- Empty and clean waste receptacles and sanitary disposal containers and insert clean liners as necessary.
- Clean countertops, backsplash areas, cupboard doors, and all other surfaces.
- Spot clean mirrors.
- Replenish supplies including soap, paper towels, and tissue paper as necessary; and
- Report any area(s) that may require attention to the Property Manager.
- Washroom check sheets to be posted in washroom and filled out daily. This in effect until web system is in use
- Sweep and mop common area floors as required to maintain a clean appearance and ensure customer safety (be sure to clean behind and around all rides, vending machines and mall furniture).
- Immediately clean up any standing water or spills in entrance ways, service corridors, or any other floor surfaces in the center and indicate wet surfaces with “Caution – Wet Floor” signs until dry and safe from any potential hazard(s).
- Dust mop and wash service corridor floors using walk behind machines as required (indicate wet surfaces with “Caution – Wet Floor” signs until dry and safe from any potential hazard(s); and
- Report any broken tiles, torn laminate flooring or any other potential hazard(s) to the Property Manager immediately.
- Dust and clean with soap and water all benches, seating, planters, tables, and directories, and remove litter as required.
- Relocate furniture as required by the Property manager
- Report any damages to mall furniture or other potential hazards to the operations manager noting that any broken furniture must be removed from the common area…
