Effective Immediately until the return of the incumbent.

37.5 hours per week

Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM- 2:30 PM

Salary starts at $28.41 at Step 1 - $ 31.55 at Step 2

Reporting to the Supervisor-Custodial Services, the Head Custodian has overall responsibility for site/security; supervision of custodian at their assigned location (s) as well as the performance of a variety of cleaning and minor maintenance tasks in accordance with establish procedures.

• Grade 12 Graduation
• Building Service Worker Certificate
• Boiler Service Awareness Certificate
• Building Service Management Course
• Valid BC Driver's License
• Fire Safety Course
• Basic Computer Skills (e-mail)
• Self-starter with ability to organize daily tasks and work independently and as a member of a team.
• Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.
• Good interpersonal and communication (oral) skills
• Physical ability to perform the assigned duties (including climbing ladders and scaffolds)

OR an equivalent combination of training and experience

• Training in building trades
• Previous experience in the maintenance of commercial or school buildings
• Demonstrated supervisory ability.
