Warehouse Manager – Custom Flooring Centres (Sechelt, BC)
We are a busy, family-owned flooring company that has proudly served the Sunshine Coast (Sechelt, Gibsons, Pender Harbour, Halfmoon Bay, and Powell River) for over 30 years. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a full-time, permanent Warehouse Manager to run our Sechelt warehouse and lead a great small team.
What the Job Looks Like Day-to-Day- Lead, train, schedule, and motivate a tight-knit team of 3–5 warehouse staff
- Oversee all shipping, receiving, accurate order picking, and inventory control of flooring products (carpet rolls, hardwood, luxury vinyl plank, laminate, tile, underlay, trim, adhesives, etc.)
- Load and unload trucks (by hand and forklift – certification provided if needed)
- Coordinate daily deliveries and pick-ups with suppliers, transport companies, and our own delivery drivers
- Conduct weekly or bi-weekly visits to our Powell River warehouse to oversee operations, perform inventory checks, and coordinate with local staff
- Keep the warehouse clean, safe, and extremely well-organized at all times
- Perform regular cycle counts, yearly inventory, and manage re-order points
- Prepare orders for installers and customers with 100% accuracy
- Handle occasional customer will-call pickups with a friendly attitude
- Work closely with the showroom sales team and installation coordinator
- Naturally positive, energetic, and leads by example
- A true "busy body" who loves staying active and keeping things moving
- Highly organized with a sharp eye for detail
- Hard-working, reliable, and takes real pride in their work
- Comfortable giving direction and holding the team accountable in a supportive way
- Physically capable of regular heavy lifting (carpet rolls up to 150 lbs with help, boxes 50–80 lbs)
- Experienced in warehouse/shipping & receiving (forklift experience is a big asset)
- Basic computer skills (we use a simple inventory program)
- Flooring industry knowledge is a bonus, but we’re happy to train the right person
- Willing and able to travel weekly or bi-weekly to Powell River (valid driver’s license required; company vehicle provided for trips)
- Full-time, year-round permanent position
- Competitive wage based on experience ($28–$35/hr to start)
- Monday–Friday schedule with occasional Saturday mornings during peak season
