Lion One Metals is seeking a knowledgeable and results-driven Chief Geologist to lead the geology team at our Alkaline Narrow Vein Gold Deposit and Mine Tuvatu, in Nadi, Fiji.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all geological activities, including exploration, resource modeling, grade control and reconciliation. It is preferred that the successful candidate have narrow vein gold experience.
Key Accountabilities or Activities- Manage the delivery of approved work programs.
- Manage work allocation to ensure resource replenishment.
- Human Resources – recruitment, training and succession planning.
- Orebody knowledge and mineral system studies.
- Implement business improvement programs.
- Production reporting.
- Wireframe and block model development.

- Demonstrate effective performance in achieving agreed SHEC goals that support the department site and company standards.
- Demonstrate leadership in SHEC through personal behaviors and conversations.
Skills:
- Solid experience in the use of mining and database software.
- Deswik and Leapfrog preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to produce technical procedures and documentation.
- Ability to schedule and prioritize tasks.
- Demonstrate leadership in Safety culture.
- Excellent personnel management.
- Proficient in Block model generation and estimation techniques.
- Good practical understanding of Drilling and Mining methods.
- Excellent knowledge of reconciliation techniques.
- Sound understanding of QAQC, sampling methods and theory.
- Good practical understanding of underground Mine Geology.
- Database Management and verification.
- Maintain current understanding on industry technical.
- Minimum of 5+ years industry experience covering underground mine geology.
- Experience with narrow vein underground gold deposits preferred.
- Experience in foreign developing environments preferred.
Degree in Geology
Membership of an acceptable professional organization
