Minimum Nurse to Patient Ratios (mNPRs) are focused on enhancing nursing practice and strengthening quality of care across the health system. In British Columbia, the mNPRs are developed in partnership with the Ministry of Health, the BC Nurses’ Union (BCNU) and health organizations.
Salary: CAD $32.84–$41.35 per hour.
Hours of work, including days off and work area, may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provisions of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.
Job SummaryCome work as a Licensed Practical Nurse with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)! Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse to join the team at Lions Gate Hospital, North Vancouver, BC. This role offers the opportunity to work as an essential member of an interdisciplinary care team in both independent and collaborative settings.
Responsibilities- Work independently and collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary care team, performing the full scope of practical nursing functions for clients with predictable outcomes within a designated area of specialty.
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document client care, and provide support to clients and their families.
- Support the Registered Nurse in caring for clients with unpredictable outcomes or where the acuity or complexity of care requires an advanced level of knowledge and skill beyond the scope of practice for Licensed Practical Nurses, under general supervision.
- Maintain and advance clinical competence pursuant to the standards of practice of BCCNM for Licensed Practical Nurses.
- Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
