Salary$50.00 – $62.77 per hour – equivalent to an annual salary of $97,833 – $122,817 (exclusive of casual premium)

Alberni office – Hybrid (Hybrid working is an option in line with FNHA’s flex work policy). Please note, this role will relocate to our new office building in North Vancouver on Tsleil‑Waututh Nation (TWN) land, south of Mount Seymour Parkway in Spring 2027.

AboutThe Role
The Clinical TB Nurse Consultant provides specialized tuberculosis (TB) support to First Nations communities on‑reserve across BC, partnering closely with Community Health Nurses to deliver and coordinate TB programmes, including Directly Observed Therapy for active and latent TB. This role combines clinical expertise with relationship‑based practice, supporting consistency in TB prevention and response by offering real‑time guidance during case management, screening, contact investigation, and education.
As a trusted advisor and educator, the Consultant trains and mentors nursing staff and DOT workers, contributes to nursing education and guidelines, and supports community‑based surveillance initiatives. The position emphasizes collaboration and cultural responsiveness, connecting systems, teams, and community priorities, fostering innovation, critical thinking, and capacity‑building within the healthcare workforce.
- Provide expert TB case management and public‑health nursing support, including screening, treatment planning, contact tracing, and follow‑up.
- Offer real‑time guidance during case management, screening, contact investigation, and education.
- Train and mentor nursing staff and DOT workers and support community‑based surveillance initiatives.
- Collaborate with community health teams, coaching peers through complex clinical and programmatic challenges.
- Apply critical thinking and independent decision‑making in a flexible, autonomous environment.
- Prioritize work and exercise sound judgement in collaboration with nurses and health leaders.
- Bachelor of Nursing with a community‑health component plus two (2) years of experience in community TB health programming and experience working with First Nations people, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification.
- Current practising registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Experience with database entry systems is an asset.
- Knowledge of, and ability to apply, an understanding of First Nations cultural principles and protocols in work situations.
- Knowledge of the cultural traditions and practices in client First Nations communities.
- Knowledge of traditional, alternative, complementary, and other recognised healing practices.

The Pay Range is the minimum (Step 1) and maximum (highest Step) annual base salary based on full‑time equivalent hours.
