Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is proud to be part of the provincial implementation of minimum Nurse to Patient Ratios (mNPRs), an initiative aimed at enhancing nursing practice and strengthening quality of care across the health system. mNPRs set the minimum number of nurses providing care to patients on a given unit. In British Columbia, mNPRs are developed in partnership with the Ministry of Health, the BC Nurses’ Union (BCNU) and health organizations.

Salary Details
The salary range for this position is CAD $49.20/Hr.

- CAD $63.47/Hr.

Job Summary
Come work as a Registered Nurse with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) at Lionsgate Hospital in North Vancouver, BC.

Practices within the context of a client and family centred care model and in accordance with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) standards of practice for registered nurses, Code of Ethics and the established mission, vision, values, objectives and policies of the organization, including commitments to our pillars of Indigenous Cultural Safety, Anti-Racism, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and Planetary Health, the Clinical Mentor role functions as an experienced clinical mentor, resource, and champion in the delivery of excellent client care to nurses and other team members.

Working in conjunction with nurse educators, provides rapid elbow-to-elbow clinical mentorship and practice support for nursing staff. Utilizes experience and clinical skills to function as a clinical resource to formally advise other nursing staff in nursing practice, provides clinical instruction and supports staff training and development. Takes on a leadership role in performing functions such as mentoring staff to support skills development, and supporting clinical practice initiatives.

Qualifications
Education & Experience

Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

Three (3) years recent, related nursing experience in the designated clinical practice area(s) including experience mentoring nursing staff as well as leadership training or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Valid Driver's License and access to personal vehicle may be required.
