We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic, and self-motivated On-Call Sampler/Inspector to support our operations in North Vancouver, BC.

Cotecna Canada, based in Vancouver, plays a key role in supporting trade, ensuring the safety and efficiency of global supply chains. We specialize in on-site supervision, sampling, and quality control for shipments moving through the Port of Vancouver.
What You’ll Do:
As an On-Call Sampler/Inspector, you will:
Receive on-the-job training to conduct sampling and inspections of bulk cargo.
Learn and apply official procedures for drawing representative samples from various product lots.
Work under supervision to assess the condition of manual and automated sampling plants and ensure proper sampling methods.
Record data about cargo condition, quality, and quantity.
Assist with the reduction, preparation, and distribution of cargo samples to third-party labs.
Maintain clean and organized work areas, including sampling plants and related spaces.
What We’re Looking For:
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License with no restrictions (required).
Basic math skills (high school level or higher).
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong interpersonal skills—outgoing, trustworthy, and a clear communicator.
Mechanical aptitude and logical thinking.
Ability to lift over 40 lbs and navigate various work environments, including climbing ladders, railcars, and ship holds.
A willingness to obtain a WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Handling) certificate (if not already certified).

Priority given to afternoons and weekends, but may include days and night shifts
Working Hours:
Work is dispatched less than 24 hours in advance, depending on shipping schedules.
Transportation: A car is required to get to the work site.
Additional Pay: Overtime pay
