Community Safety Auxiliary Patrol Member

Join Squamish Nation's Community Safety Team as an Auxiliary Patrol Member devoted to enhancing public safety. This versatile role requires proactive patrols and community engagement in North Vancouver and Squamish Valley.

As an Auxiliary member of the Community Safety Team, you will maintain safety and well-being by conducting visible patrols and supporting community members. Responsibilities include documenting safety concerns, connecting individuals to resources, and providing assistance during events and emergencies. Your presence will foster a safe environment through visible, trauma-informed support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patrol Squamish Nation communities, including housing and cultural sites

• Document and report safety concerns like vandalism and trespassing

• Serve as a contact point for community support and information

• Assist in traffic control and parking enforcement activities

• Contribute to emergency planning and response efforts

Requirements:

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent

• Training in security, first aid, or traffic control preferred

• Strong communication skills for engaging diverse community members

• Ability to de-escalate conflicts respectfully

• Valid BC Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle
