Security Guard Squamish

As a Security Guard with Securiguard in Squamish you'll be more than a uniformed presence—you'll represent safety, professionalism, and reliability. This role is ideal for individuals who are attentive, dependable, and confident in maintaining a secure and professional environment. Security Guards play a key role in ensuring the safety and comfort of staff, visitors, and the public by providing visible deterrence, responding promptly to incidents, and supporting day‑to‑day site operations.

• Providing excellent customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by giving directions, general support, and conflict de‑escalation.
• Completing hourly equipment reports, documenting the status, location, and condition of all site equipment.
• Performing routine patrols of buildings, exterior areas, and secure zones to identify security threats, unauthorized access, and safety hazards.
• Responding promptly to incidents, emergencies, and alarms, and escalating to supervisors or law enforcement when required.
• Maintaining strong access control by monitoring entry points, verifying identification, CCTV, and enforcing site policies.
• Documenting all incidents, observations, and activities through accurate report writing and logbook entries.
• Inspecting perimeter fencing, gates, equipment, and high‑risk areas to ensure integrity and security.
• Communicating effectively over radio channels to coordinate patrols and respond to on‑site requests.
• Supporting all emergency response procedures, including evacuations, hazard reporting, and first‑response actions.
• Maintaining professionalism and positive working relationships with clients, contractors, and on‑site teams.
• Conducting regular foot patrols of assigned areas to identify and report safety or security concerns.
• Reporting any safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or unusual activity.
• Adhering to company policies, safety standards, and site‑specific procedures.

• Valid BC security license.
• Strong communication skills—verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated high level of performance, commitment, and motivation.
• Access to a reliable vehicle.
• Basic first aid certificate is an asset.
• Previous security experience is an asset.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Professional deportment and accountability.
• Comfortable patrolling; ability to sit, stand, and walk for an extended period of time.
• Physically fit—ability to respond quickly to a variety of incidents on foot.
• Requires basic computer skills and ability to use systems such as Microsoft Office Suite.

Salary: $23.50 - $24.50 per hour
