Community Safety Team Auxiliary Member

Become an Auxiliary Community Safety Team member with Squamish Nation in North Vancouver and Squamish Valley.

Your role will focus on supporting safety and well-being through active patrols.

As a community safety member, you will ensure the well-being of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh communities by patrolling key areas and connecting individuals to necessary resources. This role requires strong observational skills and a commitment to community engagement and support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patrol and monitor local community sites and neighborhoods

• Observe and report security concerns like trespassing

• Connect community members with support services

• Aid in traffic control and community safety initiatives

• Assist during emergencies and community programs

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Training in first aid and de-escalation techniques preferred

• Strong communication and conflict management skills

• Valid BC Driver’s License and access to a vehicle

• Knowledge of Skwxwú7mesh culture is an asset
