Join Capilano University as a part-time Settlement Services Assistant to engage with immigrant communities in North Vancouver starting July 1, 2026.
Your role promotes access to essential public services and resources.
The assistant will operate under the Dean's guidance to facilitate settlement services and create community connections. This position involves developing mentoring programs, conducting needs assessments, and maintaining relationships with local agencies. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities are crucial in this dynamic role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct needs assessments for immigrant clients
• Promote programs to enhance community awareness
• Facilitate mentoring/hosting initiatives for immigrants
• Attend community meetings to address immigrant issues
• Organize workshops on relevant topics for stakeholders
Requirements:
• Diploma in a human/social service area
• Minimum of two years of related experience
• Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Cultural sensitivity and awareness are essential
