Leadership Course Instructor, Waterfront National Lifeguard

LEADERSHIP COURSE INSTRUCTOR – WATERFRONT NATIONAL LIFEGUARD

(CASUAL, NON-UNION) Located on the traditional, ancestral and unceded lands of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations, West Vancouver is a vibrant community on the North Shore and home to parks, beaches, and sports, recreation and arts amenities. • Planning and delivering National Lifeguard – Waterfront certification courses in accordance with Lifesaving Society standards;
• Teaching waterfront lifeguarding skills, rescue techniques, surveillance, teamwork, leadership, and emergency response;
• Evaluating candidates fairly and accurately using approved Lifesaving Society assessment tools;
• Promoting professional conduct, safety awareness, and leadership development among participants;
• Ensuring all safety protocols, risk management practices, and emergency procedures are followed;
• Maintaining accurate records, attendance, evaluations, and certification documentation;
• Communicating effectively with participants, staff, and supervisors regarding course progress and expectations;
• Inspecting, setting up, and maintaining instructional and safety equipment;
• Responding appropriately to incidents and providing first aid when required.

• Standard First Aid with CPR-C and AED;
• National Lifeguard Instructor/Examiner – National Lifeguard Waterfront.

The preferred candidate will have 1 or more years of experience teaching National Lifeguard Waterfront.

The successful candidate will be required to supply a police information check with vulnerable sector information and a copy of their credentials.

Non-Union – Casual

Hours & days of work will vary.

$35.00 plus 4% in lieu of benefits
