Accounts & Audit Manager – Northallerton

Clark Wood is partnering with a well-established and highly respected firm of Chartered Accountants in Northallerton who are looking to recruit an experienced Accounts & Audit Manager to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious ACA or ACCA qualified accountant looking to take the next step in their career with a supportive and forward-thinking independent practice. You'll manage a varied portfolio of clients across a range of industries, overseeing both audit and accounts assignments while working closely with the Partners to deliver an exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of audit and accounts clients, including owner-managed businesses, SMEs, charities, and corporate entities.
  • Plan, oversee, and review statutory audit assignments from planning through to completion.
  • Prepare and review statutory accounts in accordance with UK accounting standards.
  • Review corporation tax computations and liaise with the firm's tax specialists where required.
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing proactive advice and building long-term relationships.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Audit and Accounts Seniors, Semi Seniors, and trainees.
  • Manage workflow, budgets, and deadlines across multiple assignments.
  • Identify opportunities to improve client services and support business development initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Partners on practice development and strategic projects.
About You
  • ACA or ACCA qualified.
  • Strong experience within a UK accountancy practice environment.
  • Previous experience managing audit assignments and preparing or reviewing statutory accounts.

Competitive salary of £50,000 - £60,000 depending on experience.
