GSL Education Newcastle are seeking a dedicated School Administrator to work in schools across Northallerton
.

The School Administrator will play a key role in supporting the school's administrative functions, acting as the first point of contact for staff, students, parents, and visitors. This role is ideal for an individual with excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a busy school environment.

Responsibilities of a School Administrator:

  • Provide administrative support to the senior leadership team and teaching staff.
  • Welcome visitors, answer telephone calls, and respond to email enquiries professionally.
  • Maintain accurate student, staff, and attendance records using school management systems.
  • Prepare letters, reports, and other school documentation.
  • Manage appointments, meetings, and school calendars.
  • Assist with admissions, pupil records, and general office administration.
  • Ensure confidential information is handled securely and in accordance with school policies.
  • Order and maintain office supplies and administrative resources.
  • Support the smooth operation of the school office and provide assistance during school events where required.

School Administrator Requirements:

  • Previous administrative experience, preferably within a school or educational setting.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience using school management systems such as SIMS, Arbor, or Bromcom is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Professional, approachable, and adaptable attitude.
  • Strong commitment to confidentiality and safeguarding responsibilities.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
