North Yorkshire Home Improvement Agency is looking for an enthusiastic and organised coordinator to join their team, providing support to residents to help them improve their health and safety at home.

About the Role

Join North Yorkshire Home Improvement Agency and become part of a supportive team dedicated to helping older and vulnerable residents live safely, independently and comfortably in their own homes for longer. This team carries out adaptations and practical works that have a real impact on people's daily lives, enabling people to remain independent, maintain their wellbeing and continue accessing their home safely and confidently.

Through the delivery of repairs, adaptations and practical support, the team plays a vital role in helping residents across North Yorkshire maintain their independence and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the main point of contact for the service, guiding residents through the process of receiving minor home adaptations
  • Coordinate the delivery of the service across the district, maintaining accurate financial and administrative records
  • Assist with monitoring stock levels and financial management procedures, including processing orders, and ensuring all necessary paperwork and permissions are completed
  • Provide support and training to partners to enable them to navigate and utilise the designated referral portal
  • Work closely with Handypersons, Technical Officers, Occupational Therapy services and other professionals as required to arrange quotations for minor adaptations, engaging and liaising with building contractors to carry out the work
  • Efficiently manage your caseload of arranging works and keeping clients fully informed about the work arrangements and processes
  • Provide advice and information on the Home Improvement Agency (HIA) services available and service standards
  • Liaise with other services on behalf of the customer and signpost them to wider support networks when needed
  • Gather and monitor feedback from customers and partners, highlighting potential areas for continuous improvement
What You Will Bring
  • Experience of providing direct support to members of the public, with confidence and empathy
  • Experience of working in a customer focused environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of the needs of vulnerable people including older people, people with disabilities and their carers
  • Experience of managing and prioritising own workload
  • Ability to handle confidential information and act with tact and diplomacy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to liaise with people at all levels both internal and external to the organisation
  • Full driving license
