Scale 4, £27,204 - £29,859 + 13.5% shift and 44.9 weekend working allowance

North Yorkshire Police are excited to announce we have a current position for a Customer Service Officer to join our dedicated Team.

This role will put you at the heart of local policing assisting members of the public, police officers, and police staff with a wide range of services. This is a demanding and challenging role, but it is an exceptionally varied, interesting, and rewarding opportunity to support your local community. Full training will be given.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Taking incident reports from victims of crime.
  • Providing advice and support to members of the public on a variety of enquiries.
  • Being the first point of contact for all visitors to the police station.
  • Completing court-ordered registrations and managing bail appointments.
  • Handling surrendered firearms and weapons.
  • Processing seized vehicle releases.
  • Undertaking a wide range of administrative duties including handling cash and sensitive material, processing alarm applications, taking station calls, responding to digital live chats and processing online reports of crime.
What We’re Looking For
  • Previous experience of using Microsoft Office packages such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • The ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Experience of working in a customer service environment is desirable, however we do provide training and development on these skills.
