Design Manager / Principal Designer (Building Safety Act & CDM)

Due to continued growth and an increasing workload, our client is looking to appoint an experienced Design Manager / Principal Designer to support a growing portfolio of Higher‑Risk Buildings (HRB) and non‑HRB projects across the UK.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward‑thinking business delivering construction, façade remediation and fire safety projects, with involvement from design development through to project completion.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing and coordinating the design process, ensuring compliance with both CDM 2015 and the Building Safety Act requirements.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate the design process across multiple projects
  • Manage design information and design review meetings
  • Act as Principal Designer under CDM 2015 and the Building Safety Act
  • Ensure compliance with Building Regulations and HRB requirements
  • Identify, manage and coordinate design risk
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors and regulatory bodies
  • Support Gateway submissions and Building Safety Regulator requirements
  • Maintain design management and compliance systems
  • Support the delivery of refurbishment, remediation and construction projects
About You

We are looking for someone with:

  • Experience in Design Management and/or Principal Designer duties
  • Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 and the Building Safety Act
  • Experience with in construction, refurbishment or remediation projects
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong organisational and coordination abilities
  • A proactive and collaborative approach
