About the service The Adult Learning and Skills Service (ALSS) is dedicated to helping adults across North Yorkshire gain the skills, confidence and qualifications they need to improve their lives. We work with individuals from all backgrounds, providing accessible learning opportunities, personalised support and pathways into further education, training and employment.
Through our inclusive and community focused approach, we empower learners to reach their potential, achieve their goals and make a positive difference to their future.
About the role Working as part of a programme funded by the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority, including the Trailblazer initiative, you will provide personalised support to individuals facing challenges in accessing education and employment. Through meaningful Life Chats, one-to-one guidance and tailored interventions, you will empower learners to build confidence, develop new skills and take positive steps towards further learning or work.
Alongside this, you will deliver engaging workshops, work collaboratively with partners and stakeholders, and contribute to an innovative team focused on improving outcomes for local communities.
Key Responsibilities Deliver one-to-one and small group engagement sessions to build learner confidence.
Provide tailored information, advice and guidance (IAG) to support learner progression.
Identify and address barriers to learning, including brokering support services.
Please note - you should have the ability to travel across the county and attend meetings outside normal hours.
