**** The Opportunity
** Hawker Hunter Aviation Ltd (HHA) is seeking an experienced
** Aircraft Avionics / Electrical Technician
** to join our military aircraft maintenance team at RAF Leeming.
This is a hands-on role maintaining and supporting HHA’s fleet of operational UK Military Registered fast jets, with opportunities to support aircraft modifications, specialist defence trials and deployed flying operations.
The position may particularly suit an RAF or military-trained avionics/electrical technician who has completed
** MOD Phase 2 Technical Training or equivalent
** and wishes to continue working directly on military aircraft.
** The Role
** Working as part of a small and experienced engineering team, the role includes:
* Maintenance, servicing, testing and fault diagnosis of aircraft electrical, electronic, instrument and radio systems
* Electrical generation, power distribution, aircraft wiring and batteries
* Navigation, communication, indicating and recording systems
* Pitot-static, instrumentation and fire detection/warning systems
* Component removal, replacement and functional testing
* Fault diagnosis and defect rectification
* Embodiment of aircraft modifications and technical instructions
* Completion of controlled aircraft maintenance documentation
* Routine flight servicing and support to flying operations
* Support to specialist trials and customer tasking
* Deployment to other operating locations when required
** Essential Experience
** Applicants should have:
* ** Completed MOD Phase 2 aircraft technical training, or equivalent recognised military aircraft technical training
*** Practical military aircraft maintenance experience
* Proven ability to diagnose and rectify aircraft avionics and electrical faults using approved technical information
* Ability to interpret aircraft technical publications, wiring diagrams and electrical schematics
* Experience completing controlled aircraft maintenance documentation
* A logical and methodical approach to fault diagnosis
* The ability to work effectively within a small engineering team
* A strong commitment to aviation safety and engineering standards
** Desirable Experience
** The following would be advantageous but are
** not essential**:
* RAF or other military aircraft avionics/electrical experience
* Experience on
** Hawk, Tornado, Typhoon, Harrier or other military fast-jet platforms
*** An appropriate Level 3 aircraft engineering qualification
* Previous aircraft maintenance authorisations or certifying staff experience
* Experience with in an MRP Part 145 or similarly regulated military aviation organisation
