We have an excellent opportunity for an effective, resilient and highly motivated individual to join our Multi Agency Screening Team (MAST) in North Yorkshire as a Children and Families Worker

MAST brings together Social Workers, Social Work Managers, Early Help practitioners, Business Support, North Yorkshire Police, Safeguarding Health professionals and Probation. The team also works closely with Emotional Wellbeing Services across North Yorkshire. The team consider referrals into Children and Families Service and the most appropriate support for families.

The Children and Families Worker role is vital within MAST, tasks including screening of contacts, decision making, attending and presenting information at Group Screening meetings and working closely with multiagency partners to recognise and celebrate existing strengths and networks within families and balancing this with harm and vulnerability.

The successful applicant will have experience of working within Early Help, understanding of the Signs of Safety model and systemic practice and thrive in a fast-paced office environment. We offer regular 1-1 and group-based supervisions taking a collaborative team approach in delivering best practice at the front door.

It is an exciting time in Children and Young Peoples Services in North Yorkshire as we plan our approach in respect of the Families First Partnership Programme and how we will be responding to the social care reforms. Work is underway to plan our approach and implementations for 2027. As a result of this, some realignment may happen with job roles in the future, we want to be transparent about this in respect of this role.

Enhanced Level DBS Disclosure is required for appointment to this post.
