Job DescriptionThe Production Planning position collaborates with production supervisors, purchasing, manufacturing, and quality engineers to ensure schedules and priorities are met. The role involves discussing and resolving medium to high complexity scheduling issues.
Essential Functions- Release work packets of various programs according to the Division master schedule and program network plans.
- Maintain all MRP planning data (lead-times, lot sizes, inventory transfers, and policy codes) and perform accurate transaction entries.
- Plan, coordinate, and expedite detailed part schedules in compliance with the Master Schedule requirements.
- Review and analyze material order requirements and ensure timely order launch to meet production schedules.
- Review manufacturing orders for release, ensuring no hardware shortages and compile job packets for the manufacturing floor.
- Work closely with Purchasing, Supplier Operations, and Product Teams to status and expedite PO’s and communicate delivery status and procurement issues.
- Understand the company Management Information System as it pertains to MRP, order launching, and program execution.
- Explain and interpret process and procedures to others within and outside the job area.
- Utilize systems to report program status.
- Collaborate, stay organized, pay attention to detail, and maintain a sense of urgency.
- Multi‑task through interruptions effectively.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or 2 years post‑secondary/Associate’s Degree with 0–2 years of relevant experience.
- Production Planning experience required.
- Must be able to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Material Requirements Planning (MRP) experience.
- SAP experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Problem‑solving and investigative skills.
In Massachusetts, the salary range for this role is $51,000–$94,500. Final offer may vary based on experience and location.
