Assistant Accountant

This is an exciting Assistant Accountant role for a reputable business in central Northampton. This is a great step for a part qualified Accountant to step into a more autonomous accounting role.

The employer is a medium-sized reputable business in central Northampton.

• Review and reconcilie balance sheet codes.
• Calculating and posting journals.
• Posting of accruals and prepayments.
• Confirmation of cleared funds and setting up bank payments.
• Reconciliation of vehicle stock check to nominal ledger reports.
• Providing holiday cover for other accounts functions including bank reconciliations and cash banking.
• Reviewing and running reports as required.
• Ad hoc support.

• A solid foundation in accounting principles and practices.
• A relevant qualification or working towards one, such as AAT, ACCA or CIMA (or have equivalent experience).
• Experience in financial reporting and reconciliations.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• The ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
