This is a temporary receptionist role at Avery Healthcare's Cliftonville Care Home in Northampton. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing professional and high-quality customer service as the first point of contact, as well as various administrative tasks to support the General Manager.

Main duties of the job

As a receptionist, your primary focus will be to offer excellent customer service to residents, visitors, and staff. Key responsibilities include answering the telephone, redirecting calls, and recording messages, completing reception-related administration, maintaining databases, and providing administrative assistance as required by the General Manager. You will also be responsible for maintaining the tidiness of the reception area and liaising with the Housekeeping team to ensure high standards are maintained.

Your focus as a receptionist will be to offer professional, high quality customer service as first point of contact within the home as well as providing a range of administrative services.

  • Answering the telephone and responding to enquiries at reception, redirecting calls to relevant staff and recording messages accordingly.
  • Completing reception‑related administration, maintaining databases, and providing administrative assistance as required by the General Manager.
  • Maintaining the general tidiness of the reception area, liaising with Housekeeping to ensure standards are maintained.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, be confident in using computers, and have a positive, friendly, and welcoming attitude. Previous experience in problem‑solving and handling client complaints would be an advantage.
