This is your opportunity to take on an exciting and challenging role allowing career growth and development within NGHT.
It will deliver 'on the job' training of all the multi-disciplined tasks undertaken within the Anaesthetics, Theatres, Critical Care and Chronic Pain Services department.
This opportunity is not all about typing, it will provide the right person with a range of transferable skills within a healthcare setting.
The role will provide administration support to the Pre Op Assessment team, Pain Management team, Anaesthetics Obstetrics Team & Consultants & Trainee's within the department.
The role will also involve supporting Directorate Management Meetings with the preparation of meetings and minute taking.
Main duties of the jobSecretarial or an administration background in a busy environment will be an asset. Microsoft Office Suite skills, including Excel, typing, strong attention to detail and follow through, are a must in this diverse role. We require a friendly, hardworking, and enthusiastic person with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. You will have the ability to communicate well with staff, and be able to demonstrate experience of working under pressure and to deadlines.
You will demonstrate flexibility and the ability to prioritise workload to support the existing Admin Team, providing cross-cover and for any member of the administrative team during periods of sickness or leave.

Job responsibilitiesProvide a comprehensive clinical secretarial service to the Clinical (Consultants & Matrons) and Senior Administrative Teams to enable them to carry out their duties in an effective and efficient manner and ensure efficiency in patient care.
Ensure all correspondence for the Clinical and Senior Administrative Teams, including clinical letters, discharge summaries, medico‑legal reports and results, minutes of meetings etc are typed and dispatched promptly. This may involve reading reports over the telephone. Some of the correspondence will be audio typing.
Provide the focal point of communication for all medical, professional and allied medical staff, both within this Trust and with external organisations, and patients, using judgment to facilitate a successful outcome of all enquiries.
